Wait and see.
It should be a foregone conclusion, because DVB-H is a vastly superior
mobile TV system to DMB.
"Should be" and what happens are not always the same thing!
And which of the technology (DMB or DVB-H) is of european origin?
A Britain who choices certain technology because "it is of *European*
origin?" ...

If a frenchman or a german would say this, OK!
If a Britain whould choice something because it of *British* origin ... OK!

But a Britain (and even more, an englishman) saying this!!!
I must be dreaming. :-)

Cheerio! Kr. Bonne.
Both !!!

T-DMB have its origin from Bosch in Germany and was originaly develop
for the ICE. The new specs released last year only add H264 and H-AAC
It was still South Korea that took it further and launched it while the
Europeans were just sitting their twiddling their thumbs thinking of
ways to waste time without having to go to the trouble of improving the
DAB standard.
the town Hannover or Leipzig. The T-DMB service was shown in 2002/2003.

South Korea took this idea to their country and request a modification
to ETSI and Europe accept it.
1997 DAB captured attention in Korea
1999 An official SG organised

2002 Drafting a *KOREAN* standard for DAB/DMB within NGBF (Next

I know this !! Do you know that T-DMB exist in Germany since 1997. The
It says 1995 in my book about DAB.

first tests had been made in Hannover with the Blaupunkt DAB 106.

At the end of the day, all this discussion proves is just how much of a
disgrace it is that today DAB is using the MP2 audio codec when they
have known since 1995 (or probably long beforehand) that they could have
upgraded the audio codec on DAB.
T-DMB <> AAC

T-DMB = television
Not upgrading DAB between 1990 and 2006 = Incompetent
HE-AAC V2 >= 2003
MP3 >= 1990
To much hassle for to few advantage.

AAC >= 1993 (development started in 1993)
To late before anything usefull came out of it.

When did the chipset capable of AAC in a portable device become
available? 2002 (apple ipod)?

Today we are in 2006 and DAB is STILL using
MP2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
With RRC06, mp2 in DAB allows for more nationwide and regional
radio-stations here in Flanders then the market can substain; so what is
the problem?

The origin of the technology is a wrong argument for it's choice.

or BSAC.
And RS error correction and convolutional interleaving. So, basically,
everything of importance that's different to DAB. You blithering
buffoon.
Just as the fight for the home video recording market in the 1980s
was won by the most efficient, economical and future-ready format?
