astra cassette player

hi. im new so please be gentle.

we have recently purchased a v reg sxi astra following the arrival of
our sprog (much needed as our clio was far too 'compact' - shall we
say)

have today bout a sony cd player but cant seem to shift the original
tape player.

my fella has used allen keys needed to unscrew the four screws in
butsays the unit seems stuck and cant seem to lever it out.

(excuse any typo's - have already been at the wine - lol)

You may need expert help. Recent vehicles often have 'integrated' audio.

There may be a car audio group too. Yes. ( group added ).

It may be fitted in a type of cage, if so it could be bolted in at the rear.
If you call in at Halfords, they may be able to advise you, or even fit your
new one.
They did one for my son and they weren't too expensive, although I can't
remember what he paid.

You need some car stereo levers. They're a bit like a loop of coathanger
wire (in fact, that might work if it's good and stiff). You put them into
the little swaures on the four corners, move them out (so that the bits
inside go IN) then pull the unit out.
