Decoder

Looking for a surroundsound decoder module.
Digital in (SPDIF/AES), and x.1 digital o/p
Does anyone do such a thing?
Which surround sound format do you want decoded? The problem is that you
have a whole bunch to choose from.
Er... all of them - on 'auto'!
You don't get that. You get a dts decoder and an AC3 decoder and a Dolby E
decoder and a patchbay to select them. Then another rack of them with more
patchbay slots if you want matrix formats too.

There are some consumer devices out there that will handle a couple formats
but none of them will do Dolby E.
Creative X-Fi will

Problem is it only gives decoded analogue out, and I'd like digital.
Right. That's the rub. There are a BUNCH of devices if you don't need
digital outputs, including the cinema decoders.
Any idea why nobody seems to provide all digital?
