RRC-06 re. DAB Power??



Can anybody advise if there will be an effective increase in tx power
resulting from RRC-06 for UK DAB muxes??
Make sure you enjoy the crystal clear dreadful audio quality on DAB with
your indoor reception!
Hard facts often are Boring.
The hard fact here is that DAB sounds dreadful,
and increasing in signal strength isn't going to change that.

DAB only sounds 'dreadful' because the BBC and the Commercial
multiplexes see fit to cram lots of channels into a single multiplex
rather than putting fewer channels with decent bandwidth.
Ermm... Yes.

But it looks extremely unlikely that that situation will ever change,
hence it is almost certain that DAB will always sound dreadful.

And that is exactly what will happen in Ireland. Obviously.
Yes, the new plan for UK is in RPC5, so the minimal field strength will
be increase from mobile outdoor planification to portable indoor
(66dBµV/m).
