WorldDAB AAC+ press release

The irony that Quentin Howard is the President of WorldDAB, and is now being
oh so positive about the highly efficient new audio codec when he said the
following in an EBU Technical Review article is simply delicious:

"Spurious claims from some quarters that MPEG-1 Layer2 audio is outdated or
inefficient is a failure to understand the beauty of the way the frame
length of MPEG and COFDM co-exist and the benefit of UEP which together
deliver a very robust audio experience."

I wonder who he was referring to that was making these "spurious claims"?

And as for him saying in this WorldDAB press release that: "The right
solution for several of the most advanced DAB markets will continue to be
MPEG Audio Layer II." Er, yeah, but for how much longer?

Ah, victory is sweet, Quentin, victory is sweet indeedy.
Well. I for one haven't replied up to now, because I have been too bust
OOPS, change bust to busy. ( slight typo there).

to switch my computer on over the past few days.

I have however saved a copy of the PDF file, and I how I'll actually
have time to look at it at some point. Then perhaps I might be able to
comment on it.
