Stop press - The Gadget Show

They have just admitted on the Gadget Show that DAB quality is worse
than FM on account of low bit rates!
That would be a step in the rite direction.
Where did this information come from?

The last Gadget show I saw, incorrectly said that Classic FM was better
It was on tonight's Gadget Show. When I first saw him holding a DAB
radio I thought, oh, here we go again, more bollocks, but he said that
So did I

DAB sounds worse than FM, DAB reception is / can be very poor and
battery life is dreadful.
Better than that, he specifically said that due to the low bit rates
used, stations on DAB often sound worse than their FM counterpart.
Yeah, it's a good result.

Basically, they've redeemed themselves after last week's DAB apologist
article.

Quite so, as far as I can see they couldn't have got it more right if
they'd tried.
The *only* point I'd take issue with is that he said that DAB stations
*often* sounds worse than their FM counterpart, but I'd put it stronger
than that, because I can't think of a station that sounds better on DAB
than on FM. But I suppose I'm being pedantic, really.
It's OK, that's why we employ you here!
