OTish: Tim Westwood

Many years ago I caught Mr Tim Westwood on BBC 2 TV talking about something
or other, I wasn't paying too much attention, ISTR I was staying up waiting
for Test Card F and some 440 Hz tone.
Today while sipping on my co-co listening to the re-named Light Programme Mr
Tim Westwood was talking to Mr Steve Wright about his Channel 5 TV show.
Is it me, because my recollection of Mr Westwood from the BBC 2 prog 15
years ago was he had a 'posh' Home Counties accent. When I heard him today
he had some silly 'in the ghetto' voice and laugh. I've just searched the web for his
picture, and he still *looks* like the 'Home Counties' chap.
Can someone explain ? I've never dared listen to his show on the BBC's
national pop station.

He does what a lot of other people seem to do now. They think it is
fashionable to be a wannabe gangster or some kind of crack addict character.
He is completely fake like most talking in similar accents. Radio 1 is
allowed to broadcast racist language which is interesting. The rest of us
would be arrested for inciting racial hatred. You count how many times you
hear n***er in songs they play - how many callers and presenters say it.
One rule for one !

Timothy Westwood is the son of a Bishop - a nice middle class lad
slumming it....the whole hip hop persona even extended to him surviving
a drive by shooting some years back. He drives a big jeep with
'WESTWOOD' on the bonnet...that tells me all I need to know about him.
Years ago he was briefly chasing a female flatmate of mine - he kept
ring up with all that 'Yo Man, is my sistah there....safe' nonsense -
when I knew he was a nice Bishops son really - I should have told him
to sod off..the silly sod.
The man is a fake - he talks about 'keeping it real' but he is about as
real as Disneyland!
