OT: Best price to send a 3kg parcel to New York ??
|
My post office quite me £48 which to me seems way ott. Anyone know a cheaper
|
You could try these guys:
It's a totally automated online booking system but I've used them to send
stuff to France many times and never had a problem.
They're normally half the cost of booking a normal courier directly but they
use DHL and others, so there's no risk.
A smallish 3kg parcel to NY was quoted at £29.87 next day delivery (the
interparcel express tariff).

Thanks yes probably the deal out there though I got £32 myself

You don't say how you want to send it, is it valuable and does it require
insurance, do you want a signature on delivery, etc., there are a whole
host of options that affect the price. £48 is cheap if the contents of the
parcel are worth £10,000..!

2kg to NY £16.24p (£9.84p if paper) by Royal Mail surface (takes weeks
though).
Best deal I ever got was send 5kg boxes of papers etc. from France to UK in
1991 - cost about a fiver a box! The other way was much more expensive.

alternative ?
|
You too are way off. Try:
|
|
What are you sending and when does it need to get there? 2 1.5 kg parcels
are usually *much* cheaper than one 3 kg one if you can do that.
|
Great idea, There's always one is'nt there !!
|
You would probably need to use a flock of about 20
to share the load otherwise they might only make it
halfway across.
Either that or a big goose (or swan).
