Car Reception Problem

Had a JVC DAB radio fitted to a Vectra with windscreen aerial.

Now have had the same model fitted to a Mondeo, with an external aerial.

Trouble is I don't get the same reception on the Mondeo unit, it is far
worse.

Any ideas..........
Take it back to whoever fitted it, get them to do it correctly or get a
replacement.
Or was that a trick question!
Is it an active aerial??

Some modern cars have an aerial with a built in amplifier, and many such
aerials do not cover the DAB bands.

Richard E.
IMSMC the JVC has an on-glass aerial that most people fit on the top
of the windscreen.

Does not the Mondeo have a heated screen? If so then the presence of
the metalwork in the glass could be upsetting it. If your 'standard'
radio aerial is a non-amplified whip on the front of the roof it
should work perfectly well with the DAB unit: if it is amplified then
you best bet is to change the roof aerial for a non-amplified type or
one that is amplified but that works with Band III. Look at
manufacturers such as Bosch, Hella, etc.
